Can sweets be healthy?

There are several variants of desserts that are not only delicious, but also useful during a healthy diet. It’s not a secret that many people sitting on a diet immediately refuse  to eat sweets, because they are convinced that the sweetness is very harmful for our figure. Nutritionists do not think so. On the contrary they believe that the glucose is the main component of the body’s energy metabolism.

Honey

If you compare honey with sugar, you will see that they have almost the same amount of calories. But the main difference between them is that honey contains many useful substances — vitamins, amino acids and enzymes that help us to improve digestion. Honey is the perfect cholagogue and it also helps to purify the liver more effectively. We must always remember that  our health and condition of the skin depend on the condition of the liver. So it is necessary to include honey in small doses, but be careful – sometimes it causes allergic reactions. The spoon of honey is much more useful for our health than a sandwich with butter. But it is not necessary to replace the sugar with honey while baking desserts because the heat destroys the structure of the sugar in the composition of honey, so they can form harmful carcinogens.

Dried fruits

Phoenicia is much better than candy! Dried fruits have an impressive array of nutrients that help people to fight anemia and weakness. In addition dried fruits have also a mild laxative effect. They stimulate metabolism, help to remove excess water from the body and cleanse the intestines. There are many calories in dried fruits, for example, fresh grapes contain  about 70 kcal per 100 g, but the raisins contain almost 280 kcal. But the caloric content is not a minus, it is the advantage! Dried fruits can feed you in any situation. For example, they can be taken on the road, or at work – if your office is not provided with the kitchen. It is enough to eat a couple of different dried fruits. You can add to them a few nuts and a yogurt drink, and the body will receive all the vitamins, minerals, fiber, fats, organic acids, carbohydrates, etc.

Marshmallows

It is also very useful for people. Pay attention to the composition of marshmallows. Choose those oh them, which are without chocolate shell and jam in the filling, because they increase the number of insalubrious calories. You can give marshmallows to children because it is a type of dessert that doesn’t destroy teeth. Marshmallow is rich in iron, phosphorus and other nutritional components. Huge amounts of calcium, iron and iodine help to cleanse the liver and improve its functions.

Marmalade

Marmalade is made from a well-cooked fruit and berry puree. And in order to separate these alluring cubes, they are rolled in powdered sugar. But there are types of marmalade for diabetics which are made of fructose. These varieties are the most useful. Marmalade also contains large amounts of pectin. Pectin is a natural cleanser of the body. Agar-agar, derived from brown seaweed, improves digestion, normalizes the function of the liver. Gelatin is capable to improve the condition of the hair and skin, it is a product of animal origin. Marmalade, as well as dark chocolate, is an excellent antidepressant, because it contributes to stress relief and mood improvement. Marmalade is considered to be one of the safest desserts for children, so it is recommended to include it in their diet.

Halva

This oriental sweet dessert has a horrible number of calories. Why is it listed here? Because it has some benefits. If you take a closer look at its structure, it becomes clear why it is necessary to make a choice in its favor. Halva is made from milled sesame seeds or sunflower seeds with honey and nuts. So it is the same as honey mixed with nuts: delicious and healthy. It has rejuvenating and firming effect on our body, improves blood circulation and the gastrointestinal tract, has a positive effect on the nervous system. The nuts and seeds contain many vitamins (especially vitamins A, B and E), proteins, minerals.

Fresh fruits and berries

There is fructose in their structure and it is in 1.5 times sweeter than sugar and contains fewer calories. In addition, they contain the necessary fiber for satiety and many useful substances. Fruits can provide us with vitamin C, folic acid, some fruit contain carotene and carotenoids. Berries and fruits are the source of many important health minerals. Many of them are rich in potassium. Strawberry, pears, apples, raspberries, and melons have a higher content of iron. Apricots and lemons are rich in copper.

Fruits are also full of pectins which are necessary for useful bacteria living in our intestines.

 As you can see, healthy food is not only useful but also it can be very delicious. Sweet desserts contain a lot of substances that are very beneficial for the organism of adults and children.
